Sometimes the passions that guide your soul come to you through sheer osmosis.  Such was my case…

My Story

From the time I could barely see over the family kitchen counter in Venezuela, my passion for food began its journey.  I don’t remember when started preparing meals at home, I do however remember I was secretly thrilled that my “chore” in the family was cooking.  I loved smelling the herbs and spices, combining all kinds of ingredients and doing my own experiments with the family recipes.  Soon our family could tell when I was left with little supervision in the kitchen because there was a different twist to that evening’s meal.  As time passed my confidence grew as I saw that I was constantly being left to do my own version of family favorites.  I started blending Caribbean, Indian, and Venezuelan seasonings in the savory dishes… little did I know I was doing my own take on fusion!

Eventually I started experimenting with baking.  I began with interesting, fun cakes and cookies.  Then one day I took a chance the family favorite… the FLAN!  I was a bit nervous, actually I was terrified because that dessert was a cornerstone, and I was told that one should not mess with perfection. Fortunately, to everyone’s delight, I hit a culinary home run!!  With the passage of time, my confidence and my daring grew. In the early 1990s, I delved deeper into desserts and produced yogurt with fresh fruit for distribution for the regional hospital sector. Subsequently, I expanded my offerings to home-delivered lunches to three different companies.

When we moved to the United States, I eventually started a small business providing home-delivered meals to local companies. Thanks to my clients’ recommendations and the support of my family, my little business soon took off.  I decided to go all in and began to study in the Culinary Arts at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts in Miramar, Florida. The training expanded my years of self-training and experience.  I learned innovative techniques, all the while immersing myself in the culinary trends of a country with such access to remarkably diverse gastronomy.

It is incredibly fulfilling that after 18 years in the culinary industry, my dreams are coming to fruition.  I am very fortunate that I have an opportunity to apply the knowledge and experience, so I that have been able to develop and expand on my multicultural style with distinctive flavors and seasonings.

Today, I see the growth of my company, I am so grateful for the support of my clientele, my staff and my family.  We have focused on specialized catering for corporate events, TV productions, and private events, bringing these culinary creations to the most discerning palates.

My name is Shanti Tamar Singh,  I am a chef.
